US subscription beauty kit specialist Birchbox has reshuffled its senior management, after President and COO Philippe Pinatel, who was in charge for two years, left the company to head M.A.C Cosmetics, the make-up brand belonging to the Estée Lauder group.

To succeed Philippe Pinatel, Birchbox decided to split the COO position in two, in order to introduce an even stronger focus on the purchasing experience of its e-shop's customers.

The former General Manager of Birchbox in the UK, Savannah Sachs, has now moved to the company's New York headquarters in the role of COO. She will oversee merchandising activities, logistics, IT and the Birchbox Man business, and will also be the referent for the country managers of France, Spain and the UK.

Amanda Tolleson, formerly the Marketing Director of Birchbox in the USA, has instead been promoted to the post of Chief Customer Officer, in charge of the customer experience and of overseeing marketing, creativity, product development, customer service and retail operations.

They will both report to Katia Beauchamp, CEO and co-founder of Birchbox.
