The collaboration integrates Pinterest’s visual discovery tool Lens with QR codes, allowing customers to discover the inspiration behind the new season pieces in 68 Cath Kidston stores.

Each bag features a ‘Colour’ QR code on their swing tag, which takes customers to a Pinterest board showing styling tips, colour meanings and other inspiring images.

The company hopes this initiative will help customers make better purchase decisions and simplify the process.

“Being the first UK retailer to use Pinterest Lens with QR codes in-store is really exciting for us. By enriching the customer shopping experience, ‘Colour’ QR codes will really help us to have a dialogue with our customers during the decision making process both at retail and online. I am very proud that Cath Kidston is at the forefront of driving this experience,” said Sue Chidler, Marketing Director of Cath Kidston.

To take part, customers must simply tap the Lens icon in the Pinterest app and hover over a ‘Colour’ QR Code to find more ideas and information. QR codes can be found on the product or on printed cards displayed in prominent areas in stores.

The collaboration will be also featured in Pinterest editorial including its curated Explore space and supported by a Promoted Pins campaign.
