Nomad is known for backpacks, outdoor apparel and accessories. Following the acquisition, Nederlands MerkGoed aims to further expand the label both in the Netherlands and abroad.

Arnaud van der Vecht, investment partner at Nederlands MerkGoed, said in a press release: “The acquisition of Nomad fits perfectly within our strategy. We are currently expanding our interest in [the recently acquired international hockey brand] Dita and provide cross fertilization and synergy benefits for both brands.”

Anouk Kooijmans, CEO at Nomad, added: “The difficult decision to sell the family business was mitigated by the first discussions with Nederlands MerkGoed. It became clear that the aim is not to realize a quick exit but that initiatives will focus on the further development of a profitable company. The results of Dita and the sharp vision on the future of Nomad were decisive factors. The fast-growing outdoor market offers great opportunities for Nomad to continue national and international growth.”

Nomad is a family-owned business, which launched in 1978 and was founded by Bob Kooijmans in Zevenaar. In 2017 Anouk Kooijmans was named as CEO of the company.

Nederlands MerkGoed focuses on the accelerated growth of promising brands. The company’s current portfolio includes brands such as Ranja, BenBits, Limeau and Dita.
