Spain’s Tendam makes debut in Iraq with three openings
Spanish clothing group Tendam, previously named Cortefiel, has continued its international expansion with its debut in Iraq. The country’s capital Bagdhad has been selected for the opening of the group’s first three stores in the region.
Cortefiel, Springfield and Women’secret will mark Tendam’s entry into Iraq this year. They have each opened a store at Al Mansour Mall in Baghdad, joining a host of international fashion brands and dining options.
The Iraqi economy has been recovering lately and with a vast population of young people, the country is an attractive destination for companies looking to expand internationally.
Tendam’s entry into Iraq is part of an expansion plan announced recently by CEO Jaume Miquel. The strategy will see the group not only grow in the Middle East, but also in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
Tendam owns five brands, including Cortefiel, Springfield, Women’secret, Pedro del Hierro and Fifty. In total, the group has a presence in 90 countries through 2,000 stores.
