Trend forecaster WGSN held its first Creative Futures Summit in London last week. The event explored creative disruption and how to unlock that in an organisation.

Among the speakers on the first day of the two-day summit were iconic photographer Nick Knight, who discussed "Challenging the Conventions of Creativity" and Adam Derry, Creative Director, Ekocycle for will.i.am & The Coca Cola. Derry spoke of when Creativity and Sustainability collide.

The first day also gathered a group of "Retail Revolutionaries", including Lou Ashton, Head of Digital at Topshop, and Kate Spade New York Vice President Brand Creative Kristen Naiman, for a panel discussion.

Day two also had its fair share of fashion icons: TANK magazine CEO and Fashion Director Caroline Issa and Dazed Group's Jefferson Hack held talks on the future of publishing, and a panel discussion on harnessing the power of social networks featured Harvey Nichols Head of Digital Marketing Kerem Atasoy and Jen Rubio, co-founder, Away, among others.

Lauretta Roberts, Founder and Director, Creative Futures and the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, commented at the closing of the summit: "The first WGSN Creative Futures summit has been a great success and I would like to say a big thank you to all speakers and to those who attended. We have heard from some truly inspirational figures and leaders in their fields.

In the digital era where so much communication is no longer face-to-face, it is so vital that the creative industries still come together, at events such as this, to inspire one another and continue to push the envelope."
