Since its inception in 2011, the online platform has become one of Turkey’s top e-commerce destinations.

“Turkish people are the most stylish people in the world, and we are thrilled to be able to provide them more fashion options than they’ve ever had before,” said Trendyol founder and CEO Demet Mutlu. According to the startup, 90% of its traffic is generated organically, reflecting the enthusiasm of shoppers and the strength of the brand.

“We are honored to have attracted so many loyal customers throughout the country, and we are excited to continue providing them with the latest and greatest styles at prices that everyone can love,” she added.

Trendyol’s value proposition has managed to lure Turkish shoppers with a variety of international brands. These include adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Nine West, Converse, Lacoste and H&M.

Turkey’s fastest-growing e-tailer has also managed to outpace international e-commerce giants such as Zalando and Asos in terms of profitability and growth rates in the country.

More than 12 million customers have used the platform across the country, and more than 70% of sales come from outside major metropolitan areas. Further, it is understood that 70% of all women in Turkey who shop online have shopped on Trendyol at least once.

Trendyol.com is backed by Tiger Global Management, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
