Alexander McQueen has opted to stick to its alternative calendar. While other brands of the French luxury group Kering, such as Gucci and Bottega Veneta, have lined up to return to Milan Fashion Week this season, the label led by designer Sarah Burton will once again show this winter outside of any official calendar.

The brand announced that it will showcase its Fall/Winter 2022-23 collection on March 15 in New York, a week after the end of Paris Fashion Week and the marathon of women's ready-to-wear shows. The house did not give any explanation for this decision, nor any details about the event. It has only specified that it will be an in-person show.

Until March 2020, Alexander McQueen used to show in Paris. During the pandemic, the label adopted, like most, the format of digital presentations through a series of films shot in England. It returned to the physical catwalk last October, placing itself outside of the official calendar with a highly impactful show staged under a transparent dome set between heaven and earth on the tenth floor of an East London warehouse.

With only a handful and a mostly local audience, far from the usual hustle and bustle of fashion weeks, the event seemed to revive the original non-conformist spirit of its founder Alexander McQueen.
