Australia's Culture Kings opens first U.S. flagship store
Australian streetwear retailer Culture Kings opened on Saturday its first US Flagship store, on the Las Vegas strip under Caesars Palace.
Spanning 25,000 square feet, the two-story U.S. flagship introduces experiential and immersive retail to the US retail market. In particular, the flagship is home to a half-basketball court, a world-record-breaking 75 feet hat wall, and a professional recording studio.
Likewise, the store's 'Secret Room' offers the most sought after items on the planet, while 'The Vault' is stacked with premium jewelry. Overall, visitors can cop over 600 styles of apparel, over 1000 styles of headwear, and more than 600 styles of footwear and more.
Culture Kings, who uniquely blends music, sports and fashion, is not new to retail. Founded in 2008 by Tah-nee and Simon Beard in Brisbane, it currently operates eight experiential stores in major cities in Australia and New Zealand.
Each store is hosted by a rotation of DJs and equipped with interactive games that create an exciting shopping environment. Meanwhile, the retailer is known for its extensive and curated collection of over 100 leading global brands, as well as its coveted world-exclusive pieces.
The retailer was acquired by A.K.A. Brands in March 2021, whose digital portfolio also includes Princess Polly, Petal & Pup, and Rebdolls. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“The Culture Kings stores offer a truly incredible experience, and we are excited to introduce this one-of-a-kind retail concept to our customers in the U.S.,” said Jill Ramsey, chief executive officer, A.K.A. Brands, back in March when the store opening was first announced.
“The stores have proven to be very successful in driving brand awareness in international markets, and we anticipate that the first U.S. flagship will become a must-visit destination in Las Vegas where there is high tourist traffic. The Culture Kings store format serves as a powerful customer acquisition tool and provides shoppers with a unique, immersive streetwear experience. We are confident the store will be instrumental in accelerating Culture Kings’ growth in the U.S. market.”
