Barneys New York on Monday announced that it would begin its multi-year expansion and renovation of its San Francisco store this July. Construction should be completed by 2017.
The San Francisco store at Union Square currently spans 60,000-square-feet and will amass 19,000 additional square feet after it completes construction on its freestanding men’s store. The men’s store will be divided into a street level, which will house accessories, and a lower level that will contain ready-to-wear and shoes from brands Balmain, Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Thom Browne and Valentino, to name a few. The store is slated to open in spring 2016.
The store’s fifth and sixth floors, which used to be occupied by men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, will be occupied by women’s shoes and accessories and a Freds restaurant, respectively, that will open by the end of 2017. Renovations of the women’s store will continue through 2016 and 2017.
