Now at the helm, Claude-Eric Paquin notably worked for Société Générale, before assuming the presidency of the French subsidiary of Midland Bank. In 1992 he joined Crédit Lyonnais, as President of Altus Finance, then of the 'bad bank' organisation managing the group's liabilities after its near bankruptcy.  From 1997 he managed the assets of the JB Martin group, for which he acted as President from 2008 to 2015.

Between 2010 and 2015, based on last year's estimate, French footwear exports leaped by 85%, reaching €2.7 billion. Those towards China and Hong Kong rose by 108%, up to €160 million. Sales grew by 342% in the UAE, up to €51 million, by 225% in Singapore, reaching €37 million, and by 808% in South Korea, reaching €22 million.

The French footwear industry consists of about 100 companies, with a total of nearly 5,500 employees. National output in 2014 was 23.2 million pairs, equivalent to a revenue of €896 million.
