Even though September saw the lowest growth in the UK in five years, the British online retail sector expects earnings of 107 billion pounds for 2014.

In September, British e-commerce saw an increase of "only" 7%. Only because it was the lowest level seen by the sector since 2010. Growth reached 8% for the multi-channel brand portals, compared to 5% for the pure-players.

But September's mild weather had a particular impact on e-commerce clothing sales, which practically stagnated, 0.3%, for the month. Accessories however avoided this fate, with a 48% increase in sales compared to September 2013. In contrast, footwear saw a 4.5% decrease.
