Days after announcing a new wholesale director, Esprit has appointed Simon Heckscher as new global head of marketing with immediate effect. Over the next few months, he will oversee the company’s marketing division, which is undergoing a restructuring to become more dynamic.

In his new role, Heckscher will report to Esprit CEO Anders Kristiansen until a new chief sales officer for Europe and the Americas is appointed.

Heckscher has been at the clothing company for more than five years, focusing primarily on transforming the Esprit and its Outlet business. He joined the German clothing brand as head of corporate strategy, leading the transformation and corporate overhaul of the group. In February 2016, he took over the role of general manager of Outlet and developed and implemented a new global off-price strategy for the brand. Most recently, he was part of an internal task force created to help the retailer get out of the red.

Vincent Jeanniard, the current head of global marketing, will leave the company after two years to pursue other opportunities.
