Pop-ups are proving more popular than ever this year at many levels of the market, and luxury is no exception. The latest is at one of London’s top high-end department stores, Harrods.

Ultra-luxe label Giambattista Valli has just unveiled a pop-up at the famed Knightsbridge store with the space open until 28 May.

It’s built around the Paris-based brand’s Resort 23 collection, along with an exclusive pink Paglia di Vienna capsule collection.

The company said that “customers can expect to find a range of signature pieces that capture the effortless essence of the Parisienne with a focus on intricate details, luxurious fabrics and idyllic floral prints”.

The pop-up is on the first floor of the giant department store and is promising to give customers “a one-of-a-kind shopping experience in the elegant and sophisticated world of Giambattista Valli within the walls of one of the most iconic shopping destinations in the world”.

The latest report from high-end-focused data specialist Luxurynsight shows that pop-ups have been a key focus for designer brands in the past year and activity around them has been picking up pace.

Harrods has had its fair share of temporary luxe spaces with launch activity linked to them lately. That includes the store and window takeover by Dior for the festive season last year, as well as smaller spaces such as Labelhood’s pop-up for Chinese New Year, Louis Vuitton that opened two pop-ups there for its Yayoi Kusama link-up, Georges Hobeika, and Napapijri.
