Launched in July 2015, Goat is a mobile marketplace for sneaker sellers and buyers. Over 2 million members have joined the app since its launch, and this year, multiple sellers have exceeded $1 million in sales and each projected to top $2 million by the end of the 2017. In addition, the Los Angeles-based company has raised $37.6 million, $25 million of which came from a funding round led by Accel.

Bain, who stepped down from his role as COO of Twitter in 2016, has held senior management roles at Fox Networks, and served as a producer of the LA Times and Cleveland.com. The addition of Bain to the Board of Directors will help Goat expand its global operations.

"As we look to expand operations on the East Coast and eventually internationally, we needed someone like Adam Bain," says Eddy Lu, co-founder and CEO of Goat. "Adam helped scale Twitter into a massive public company and is credited with building its multi-billion dollar advertising business. He brings a great deal of operations experience and we're thrilled to have him join our board."
