Hedi Slimane has broken his silence through a statement from his lawyer Hervé Temime, which was published on twitter. The former creative director of Saint Laurent denies that he traveled to Doha in search of financing of his own brand. The clearly worded statement announced: “For the record, Hedi Slimane has never had in the past, let alone now, the intention or desire to launch a brand under his name, and therefore denies recent rumors of alleged encounters with investors, in Paris or in Doha, where he has in fact never been.”

Through the statement from his lawyer, Hedi Slimane also made clear that he “has retained lawyer Hervé Temime to preserve and defend his rights under his agreements with the Kering Group.”

In the same statement, the designer said that the four years he spent as Saint Laurent's creative and image director had been unanimously acclaimed for the strategic renewal and the creative and commercial success he brought to the House. He thanked all the teams at Saint Laurent, the studio and the Angers historical factory. He also expressed his gratitude to the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation and that he dedicates his four-year design tenure to Pierre Bergé.
