Retail giant Isetan continues to promote Japanese culture with a new concept, The Japan Store. The first two store debuts will take place in September in Paris and Kuala Lumpur.

As reported by us in March, the Paris address will be situated at the iconic Japanese Culture House of Paris (MCJP). The concept store 'The Art of Living in Japan' will cover 90 square metres on the ground floor of the large building next door to the Eiffel Tower.

The Japan Store in Kuala Lumpur will open one month later inside Isetan's 11,000 square metre city store, which is currently being renovated, located in the heart of Lot 10 Shopping Mall.

"It won't be a big store," said Isetan CEO, Hiroshi Onishi, in an interview with FashionMag in March.

"It's in this environment that we wanted to strengthen our presence. Yes, we have a Mistukoshi boutique in Rome today. But there isn't one in Paris or London, and so we would like to maybe set up smaller boutiques, notably in Paris. It's in this frame of mind that we've returned to France."
