It may not come as a surprise: Jose Luis Duran has officially been named CEO of Lacoste SA. In 2009 the ex-Carrefour boss took over the reins at Devanlay, the Lacoste licenser owned by Maus Frères. Maus Frères have recently required the remaining 65% of shares which belonged to the Lacoste family.

Jose Luis Duran was appointed to replace Christophe Chenot during the last board meeting, held 21 December. As a result of the same meeting, seven new members were added to the Board of Directors: Didier Maus, Pierre-André Maus, Thierry Halff, Jean-Bernard Rondeau, Jose Luis Duran, as well as Sophie Lacoste Dournel and Béryl Lacoste Hamilton, granddaughters of the brand founder René Lacoste. Didier Maus has been elected chairman of the board, a position formerly held by Sophie Lacoste-Dournel whose appointment was greatly opposed by Bernard Lacoste, former chairman, and which eventually lead to the Maus Frères taking over the company.
