As President, Lisa Bridge will oversee HR, sales, operations and merchandising. Senior management is looking to her for help connecting with a younger consumer through digital and e-commerce growth. The company has not made a social media post since September, hinting at what some of her operations goals may be.

In making the announcement, Berkshire Hathaway's Chairman Warren Buffett said Lisa will ensure continuity and also drive evolution. Buffett said "With the challenges facing retailing, I am excited to have someone passionate for the jewelry business, with creative ideas, and an understanding of today's consumer at the helm."

Co-CEO and General Counsel Jon Bridge said that Lisa will help evolve the business through new channels. He said, "Her knowledge of the business and insight as a member of the next generation will greatly expand opportunities for our company."

Lisa Bridge is a fifth generation jeweler and Certified Gemologist. For the past seven years she has been Vice President of Education for Ben Bridge Jeweler, where she oversaw the education and professional development of the company's 1,200 employees.

Lisa Bridge also launched her own namesake collection in 2015, inspired by the natural beauty she has encountered in her travels. For her part, Lisa said she loves the relationships built over fine jewelry and is looking forward to providing "amazing experiences" to Ben Bridge customers.

Her appointment is effective immediately. President and Co-CEO Ed Bridge will become Chairman and CEO. Co-CEO Jon Bridge is retiring.

Ben Bridge has been owned by Berkshire Hathaway for 17 years. It has 90 retail stores in 11 states and one province.
