Liverpool One has embarked on a comprehensive programme to “welcome and inspire visitors upon their return”, the north west of England shopping destination announced Monday.

With customer care and safety becoming a key element of trading when stores were open last year, the destination is planning a ‘deep clean’ programme throughout the 42-acre estate. The works, which will run over the coming weeks, are the “most comprehensive maintenance programme undertaken" since Liverpool One opened in 2008, it noted.

Meanwhile, in the build-up to the reopening, it will also be running a series of ‘Liverpool One at Home’ virtual experiences to keep visitors “engaged and entertained during the final weeks of the lockdown”.  The programme follows the success of its Dinosaurs Unleashed AR initiative last year, it noted.

The destinations is also promoting a raft of new brands preparing to open alongside the centre’s established line-up.  These include beauty destination Thérapie Clinic and experiential golfing concept, On The Green, in the final stages of their fit-outs. They join a number of other new additions that have committed to Liverpool One during the pandemic, including MAC Cosmetics, Castore, Boujee, Sky, Vincentius and Kenji.

Commenting on the preparations, Donna Howitt, Place Strategy director at Liverpool One, said: “[We] will be ready for the better days that are coming.  As with the periods following the previous lockdowns, we want to reassure visitors they can safely enjoy Liverpool One."
