Courir is letting Naked Copenhagen spread its wings. The website founded in 2004 by Stine Lindholm Pedersen and Tommas Olsen was bought a year ago by the French sneaker specialist. It currently has three stores in Denmark.

Through this acquisition Courir has gained a genuine expert when it comes to women's premium sneakers. Naked Copenhagen already exists in Danish, English, French and Dutch and offers big brand shoes, including exclusives like the recent Asics Gel-1130 model. One of the website's strong points is its home-made photoshoots, interpreting the shoes in its own way.

Early 2023 the Parisian clientele will witness this expertise. The project was announced just after the acquisition and it is starting to take shape. “The Naked team has already translated the site into French," said Pierre Chambaudrie, Courir's managing director. “We are working to help them develop on the French market and there will be an opening in the Marais in Paris at the beginning of the year. But they will be working on their projects. Our idea is really that the concept should keep its DNA, which is very different from that of Courir.”

For now, the group has not disclosed the future store address. But this first store opening in the French capital will be a good trial to then consider more openings in other European cities. The Marais, where the future store is set to open, is a neighborhood home to brands such as Foot Patrol, 14 Temple, Edmond, Shoes as well as Supreme, Stüssy and Carhartt WIP.

For Courir this means bringing a premium offer to the women's sneaker market. In France, the group has successfully won over a female clientele and claims 20% of the market share in this sector.
