Nordgreen launches in UK after Kickstarter campaign

Danish watch brand Nordgreen has launched a new e-commerce platform for British customers following a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year.

It joins further sites for Germany, China, Japan, Korean and other global markets, according to BDaily.

Based on the principles of minimalism, simplicity and functionality, Nordgreen watches are highly customisable with a selection of case sizes, colours and strap materials across three styles.

The brand was set up in 2017 by Vasilij Brandt and Pascar Silvam, who later recruited one of Scandinavia’s leading designers, Jakob Wagner. Wagner has previously worked with Bang & Olufsen, Hay and Muuto, and one of his designs is now part of the permanent collection at MoMA, New York.

On the sixth day of Nordgreen’s Kickstarter campaign, the brand reached $100,000 in sales.

The business is partly funded by venture capital fund Blazar Capital, which owns 50%. A further 10% share is held by an anonymous private investor, who invested $500,000 in a transaction that valued the company at $5 million ahead of its launch, reported BDaily.

The Kickstarter campaign raised a further $250,000.
