Primark teams up with Greggs for second collection

The success of the first Greggs x Primark fashion collection earlier this year was no flash in the pan. The value fashion/lifestyle retailer and the baked-goods producer are going all-out, launching a new 21-piece collection that will includes bodysuits, belt-bags and the summer hit bucket hat.

Greggs x Primark

Ahead of the official launch in all UK stores from 5 August, fans will get the chance to purchase the collection as a Greggs x Primark ‘Snackfest’ bus that will be travelling to five key cities across the UK, featuring  “some top secret special guest performances” and competitions.

“The new collection has been designed to get the nation festival-ready and features everything you need to look the part this summer”, Primark said.

The wider ‘festival collection’ will feature new items including cycle shorts, bodysuits, basketball jerseys, varsity jackets and new footwear. It also sees the return of popular items from the first collection including the Greggs bucket hat and underpants. Those who “want to take their look to the next level”, can accessorise with belt-bags and sliders.

The exclusive range, which is the latest in a long line of collaborations for Primark, comes after the recent Netflix Stranger Things collaboration that saw the exclusive Hellfire Club T-shirt sell out in days.

The limited pre-sale of selected items combined with a mini festival experience will see the ‘Snackfest’ bus visit Brighton: JubileeSquare (27 July); Manchester: Cathedral Gardens, (29 July); Liverpool: Liverpool One Paradise Place (31 July); Glasgow: Argyle St (2 August); and Newcastle: Northumberland St (4 August).

Jermaine Lapwood, Head of Innovation and Future Trends at Primark said: “I believe the best partnerships in fashion are those that are blindingly obvious but never boring or predictable. In a world of collaborations, it is important that we stand out and be different.

“As part of this drop, for the first time in Primark history we are taking the collection on the road and fans will be able to get early access to our own ‘Snackfest’ tour bus which will pop up across the UK.”

Hannah Squirrell, Customer Director at Greggs added: “The reaction to our first official Greggs clothing collection was incredible and sold out even faster than we anticipated. We’re excited to team up with Primark once again to deliver more fun and unique pieces that Greggs fans will wear with pride across the summer and beyond.”
