The American fashion designer Lam will continue on with the company as chief creative officer.

Sandbridge Capital, which invested in the business in 2014, sold its shares, as did Jan Hendrik-Schlottman, Derek Lam's business partner and husband, who was also the CEO of the company.

Public Clothing Company confirmed the news in an email to FashionNetwork.com, following an interview with WWD.

Lam shuttered his high-end, eponymous line last year, but will continue to focus on the Derek Lam 10 Crosby as part of the acquisition.

The advanced contemporary line, Derek Lam 10 Crosby was launched in 2011, while Derek Lam was founded in New York City, in 2003.

PCC was founded in 1993 and owns brands like ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo and active line NOS.
