Scandinavian fashion label Filippa K has named Alexander Wang’s Rikard Frost as its new CEO as of April. The company said his arrival means “an exciting new chapter for both Rikard and the brand” as it “unites Filippa K’s values and heritage with his global experience and direct-to- consumer expertise”.

Until he starts, Erik Björk will continue as interim CEO for Filippa K.

The company, which is growing internationally, sought an “industry veteran with a proven track record of helping brands to grow and thrive on a global scale,” according to its chairman Joakim Skarborg, who’s also CEO of its parent company Novax.

His new role means Frost, a Swedish native, is returning to his home country after being Chief Consumer Officer for Alexander Wang in New York.

He has experience “working for [other] brands with presences in key markets including the UK, US, France and China” and the company said this makes him “well placed to lead Filippa K’s ambitious plans to champion sustainable change in the global fashion industry”.

Importantly too, his more-than-a-decade “leading digital transformation at Acne Studios [means] Rikard possesses a keen understanding of Scandinavian style”.

While he was at that upscale label, Acne “grew from a local denim brand to an internationally acclaimed luxury fashion house, with Rikard’s ability to define e-commerce for the luxury fashion landscape a key factor behind the elevation of the brand’s expression, customer experience and reach”.

Frost himself said his new role is “an irresistible opportunity” and he looking forward to being able to “drive real change within the fashion industry on a global scale which is something I care deeply for at a personal level”.

Filippa K currently trades in 72 markets.
