ST95 makes comeback under Christopher Ræburn

It’s a year since the acquisition of The Left Hand and ST95 brands by UK-based Left Hand Studios Limited was announced and now the ST95 label has finally been relaunched with Christopher Ræburn at the helm. The brand returns with its first new collection in over two decades.

The label had originally been launched in the mid-1990s by Stone Island and C.P. Company’s Massimo Osti and has become something of a cult in the past two decades.

Now Ræburn, working from his Ræburn Lab in East London, has created a collection that “combines progressive design with responsible design, while keeping the lineage of the brand at its core”.

The first drop comprises a range of outerwear with “military and utilitarian design elements made for the modern-day", using 100% recycled materials.

The company said “limited stock” lands this week “in hand-picked UK retailers” such as Hip Store, Tessuti, Wellgosh and Yards. A wider release across Europe will follow in 2022.

As mentioned, the brand was acquired last year along with Left Hand. That news came just a day after Moncler had announced that it was buying Stone Island.

There’s no news yet on the Left Hand label, although the relaunch of ST95 makes sense in the current trend environment given that it always had a younger and more sporty profile than its portfolio-mate.
