Italian fashion retailer Stefanel has opened its first store in Denmark at the Kurhotel hotel in Skodsborg, on the outskirts of Copenhagen. The 20 m2 store is located inside the hotel's shopping area, with a daily footfall of over one thousand visitors, and showcases the label's women's and accessories collections.

In a press release, Stefanel explained how "the label is distributed in Denmark via selected multibrand stores and, with its first [monobrand] opening, is looking to boost visibility ahead of further expansion in northern Europe."

The Veneto-based brand has a retail presence in Norway (Oslo) and Sweden (Gothenburg), and in the next few months it expects to ink deals to enter a series of department stores in Finland.

In 2015, Stefanel reported a revenue of €156.6 million, 63.2% of which was generated outside Italy, but in the first six months of 2016 the group posted a €13 million loss. In early 2017, private equity firm Oxy Capital and UK investment fund Attestor acquired a 75% stake in Stefanel, and began working on a relaunch plan.
