The fashion magazine recently announced that the first Paris edition of the Vogue Fashion Festival will be held on 4th and 5th November 2016. The two days will be marked by a series of debates. "The fashion world is currently dealing with profound changes, forcing it to ask itself the right questions and seek new insights," stated the press release published by Vogue.

Tadashi Yanai, the boss of Fast Retailing, will inaugurate the event - Fast Retailing

The event will be organised in partnership with Swarovski, with the support of Place Vendôme Qatar, a huge luxury real estate/retail project set to open in Lusail, Qatar, in 2018. It will be held at the Potocki Palace, home to the Paris-Ile de France Chamber of Commerce, in avenue de Friedland, where the industry's leading figures and influencers will gather to discuss the new economic, strategic and creative challenges facing the fashion world.

At this first edition of the festival, hosted by Vogue’s journalists, several personalities from different sectors, all connected with fashion, will feature in panel discussions, round-table talks and master-classes.

Tadashi Yanai, founder of Uniqlo and President of the Fast Retailing group, will kick off the event by discussing fast fashion. He will be followed by the Vice-President of Amazon Europe Retail, explaining his group's worldwide fashion offensive, by the Presidents of Chloé and Saint Laurent, who will assess the future of fashion shows, and by the founders of leading e-commerce platforms (Vente Privée, Farfetch, Vestiaire Collective and Style.com), who will decode the new purchasing behaviour via their websites.

Isabel Marant, Olivier Rousteing, Alexandre Matiussi, Anja Rubik, Emmanuelle Alt and Mario Testino will talk about their creative experiences in our digital times, featuring social media and an ever-faster pace.

Four master-classes about jobs in fashion are also scheduled: how to succeed with a start-up, how to develop a career in fashion, how to become a fashion editor and journalist and how to launch into a modelling career. The classes will allow fashion aficionados to learn about success stories and hear the advice of professionals.

For the occasion, Vogue and Swarovski have asked 9 young fashion designers to each create an exceptional piece decorated with Swarovski crystal. The resulting capsule collection will be presented at the Vogue Fashion Festival and then donated to the Galliera Palace, Paris' museum of fashion, by the Vogue Paris Foundation.

According to Vogue, the Fashion Festival will target both professionals from the fashion and related industries and fashion enthusiasts, who will be able to draw inspiration and food for future thought from the event.

Registration to the festival will open on 1st September on Vogue's French website.
